Slacker? Or Time Traveler?

Hear me out. I haven’t been slacking on this blog. I traveled forward one year in time and came straight to this computer to continue to update you on my life.
Although, if I stick to that story, what I’ve been up to the last year will not make sense.
Okay, so…. I’ve been slacking. But only on this blog.
Since last I wrote, I’ve finished three short stories and sent them out to various publications in the hope that someone will enjoy my story just as much as me. I’m collecting a good number of rejections following this path, but I still have some optimism on this front. To be continued…
The majority of my work has been rewriting my novel. That’s right, I’ve said before I was not going to rewrite it. I was going to move on with my life and write other things.
WELL, GET OFF MY BACK. I’M AN UNRELIABLE NARRARATOR, ALRIGHT?!
I have buckled down on a rewrite and am currently finishing up Act II. Yes, things have changed a bit. I have a lot of scenes that really pop out of nowhere that I didn’t see coming and even I’m impressed. The weird part is they all seem to involve the same character:
Stone: a clone who watched her sister Flower die on the unforgiving steps of the Tower of Keepers. Feared and hated for her destiny of madness and destruction, Stone is locked in a cage as the Security of the Colonial Kingdom is decided.
Yes, she was supposed to die early on. She has extended her life seven chapters, and we’ll see if she can save herself completely. I’m rooting for her.
Virulent Venus is about 75% completed. Three short stories are in various stages of being queried. And I’m thinking I’ll kick out two more before diving into the third and final act of VV.
Thanks for reading. I promise the next update won’t take as long.
