Going Live!

And maybe not quite ready. This last few weeks have been pretty productive. I finally polished and published this website, threw it up on twitter (which I've found to be intoxicatingly toxic), and shrugged off the little details that still need to be done. None of the social media connections are connected to my personal social media. God only knows which email the contact email goes to. And I only have 13% of a plan on what I would do if someone subscribed to my newsletter. (13%? That's barely a concept) But, we are live and that's progress.
This week, I managed to send out five more agent queries for Virulent Venus. This will be my second batch and I anxiously await sending more. I don't get down when I get rejections. I'm of the mindset this first book probably won't catch anyone's eye, and that's ok. It is time to move on and write more books so I can query them too. I keep seeing the magic number is 6. After you write six books, you might have something worth reading. Anyone else seeing that pattern?
On my last blog post, I wrote about what may come next. Well, this week I also started The Soulmate Project. This book is based off a short story I did ten or more years ago. The outline I have completed changes everything but the core idea. I don't know if I put it up under the writing tab, but you can always go there and check it out. It is called From Purgatory to Paradise. I submitted it to Writers of the Future and didn't win. Don't expect gold. It's always disconcerting to find a similar book while doing research and, of course, I did. Not only that, it was recently made into a Netflix series. It's called The One by John Marrs. I'm going to check it out because it sounds like a great read. Hmm, but if I do that, will it influence what I'm about to write? Conundrum.
Anyway, I'm going to get started on the first draft of The Soulmate Project. I want to average 2k words a day, and when I'm participating in Nanowrimo that doesn't seem to be so hard. Do you do Nano? If so, comment your username. I could use some more writer friends.
